Meet the Cutie Clash Pageant – Who Can Enter and What You Need to Know
One of the first questions every new parent asks when they discover the Cutie Clash Pageant is: can my child enter? The answer, in almost every case, is yes — and here’s everything you need to know before you submit your entry.
Who Can Enter
Cutie Clash Pageant is open to children from newborn all the way up to 12 years old. There are no age subcategories — all eligible children compete together on a single monthly leaderboard. Whether your child is a two-week-old newborn or a confident 12-year-old, there is a spot on the Cutie Clash leaderboard with their name on it.
The person submitting the entry must be 18 years or older and must be the child’s parent or legal guardian. Entries must be submitted by a South African resident. One entry per child per competition month.
When Does the Competition Run
Cutie Clash Pageant runs monthly. The competition opens on the first day of each month and closes at the end of the month. Votes cast after the closing time are not counted.
Here’s the important timing detail: entries submitted during the current month compete in the following month’s competition. So if you enter your child on 15 September, your child will compete in October’s competition — not September’s. This ensures every contestant starts the new competition month at exactly the same time, with an equal opportunity to collect votes from day one.
Entries close 3 days before the end of each month to give the team time to review and approve photos before the new month opens.
What to Include in Your Entry
Entering takes less than five minutes. You’ll need:
Your child’s first name. Their age. Your contact details. A photo of your child. And a short bio — two or three sentences about your child’s personality, what makes them special, or a funny story about them. The bio appears on your child’s contestant profile and is often what makes voters fall in love.
What Makes a Great Entry Photo
A professional photo is not required. Some of the most successful entries on the Cutie Clash leaderboard are simple phone photos taken in good natural light. Here’s what works:
Good lighting — natural daylight is best. A clear, uncluttered background. Your child as the main subject, not one of several people in the frame. An authentic expression — a genuine smile, a cheeky look, or a mid-laugh moment consistently outperforms a stiff, posed shot. Portrait orientation (taller than wide) displays best on the leaderboard.
What Happens After You Submit
Once you submit your entry, it goes to the Cutie Clash team for review. Every single entry is reviewed by a real team member before going live — this is part of our child safety commitment. Reviews are completed within 48 hours.
If your entry is approved, you’ll receive an email confirmation and your child’s profile will go live at the start of the following month’s competition. If there’s any issue with the entry (blurry photo, unclear image, multiple people in the photo), we’ll let you know so you can resubmit.
Child Safety From the Start
Before your child’s photo appears publicly on the leaderboard, it is watermarked with Cutie Clash Pageant branding. We never display your child’s surname, date of birth, school, or any personal contact information. Only their first name and the bio you write are visible publicly.
